JVC 2:1 "Don't say no way, Yahweh."

 "Don't say no way, Yahweh."

Jesus H.V.C. 2:1 (supplemental)

With further regard to the idea of Jesus Christ being a viral Roman meme originating in the Gaza region. Having arisen organically from local lore, Christianity had become a force all its own, in a relatively short time. It arose in response to the conflagration of the needs of the region, the presence of many that were educated in various other cultures, and the accepting support of the simple & the naive. After all, it’s not like anyone would or could make up such a thing as Christianity. Or even 2 or more additional branches of Christianity yearly, ad infinitum. By the time the rest of what would become Christianity was about to be hammered out and written down, it had gone from an obscure localized cult with under 1000 believers/practitioners in 40CE, to the official majority religion of Rome by 400CE. It grew so fast, some have been attributed with saying in surprised response, “Jesus Christ.”

Christianity was born as the perfect bastard child of the Roman citizenry's vast exposure to all manner of pagan religious beliefs, and the need to incorporate the local Judaic holy texts. Many note the alignment of Christianity with concepts originating in India, brought back by Alexander the Great some 400 years prior. The Gnostic movement was closest to this as Gnosticism embraced Buddhist like principles teaching illusion as the negative with enlightenment as the path to salvation, rather than sin being unavoidable and therefore requiring forgiveness. They regarded the former concepts as being for the simple minded. A false face slapped onto true enlightenment, and therefore true salvation.

Why Jesus? A study of the Judaic biblical texts produces very few heroes without a major critical flaw. Even the nearly worshiped King David had Uriah the Hittite killed to hide his shame for impregnating his wife, Bathsheba. They would remain together and have 2 sons in their iniquity, one of which the Judaic texts refer to as “The wisest man who ever lived.” Although he is professed to have had some 700 wives and 300 concubines, so that claim seems doubtful. (Though I will say, a better way to stay sharp may have never existed!) Noah cursed his son while drunk, and rather than write it off as drunken nonsense, great note of it is made. Many modern white racists attribute the cursed child as being the first black person. The 12 tribes of Israel were named mostly for the jealous brothers that had sold Joseph, their own brother, into slavery after deceiving him. The tale of Jacob and Esau paints Jacob as the Hero, though he attempts to steal the order of birth from his brother, while his brother is hangry. Jacob later lies to his dying father to facilitate the transition and finish the scheme, which the texts then note as successful. Alternative racist stories in the black community place Esau as the first mentioned red head and therefore cursed father of white people. Poor guy. The Romans in the Region were well aware of these stories if not their modern variants. I’m sure they wondered why David was so highly regarded instead of ‘Saul’ their first king. SO MANY flawed heroes exist in the Judaic texts that it is nearly all of them. A few biblical heroes do stand out as quite uncompromised though, if not unflawed; Joseph, Jonah, Job, and Joshua. Clearly the Jewish people had a special place in their hearts for the J-named heroes no matter how much they liked David. In their wisdom, and mockery, the Romans behind the Jesus story had chosen a truly loved Jewish name, literally Joshua, Yehoshua; and for the further author/hero, Saul, but a different name since Saul isn’t good enough, Paul.

I find the fighting that goes on in that region tragic and very disheartening. Palestine is Israel, Israel is Palestine. Both of their religions claim they are family. Israel steals land from them and then points at those that would dare to rise against it. Star Wars and the American revolutionaries would call them Rebels, but now we call people that fight back terrorists. The ONLY reason the Israeli government DARES behave this way is because of U.S. Christianity propping them up. God spread Israel to the wind once, and it’ll happen again if necessary. I don’t want to see US (U.S.) get punished along with them. The whole book could be viewed as God’s repeated dissatisfaction with Israel. And it doesn’t even include the holocaust of WW2!

The safest thing for everyone would be for the United States to occupy Israel as a governed state. To stand and protect both Gaza and Israel; Gaza from Israel, and Israel from itself. No more racist theocracy, no more stealing land, no more lives being added to the insatiable, ever rising, death toll. We need to stop being afraid of a god in a book in a story about a defeated nation, and stop enabling this madness. We need to embrace our friends Palestine and Israel, and lead them to sit by still waters, & comfort them with our rod and staff. You know, do God’s work in the region, for really real.

Don’t say, “No way.”

“Yahweh.”
